The Egyptian exhibition of Germany
In the Hôtel de Beauharnais (German Embassy), under Benjamin Mouton’s direction, Maison Phelippeau created and installed in the former throne room renamed "Egyptian Room" the 15/16 fault wall hanging and classic crossed curtains with an inlay of carved velvet strips and silk fringes. Sub-curtains, glass curtains and a silk snow flake wall hanging with cable trimming were also installed. This restoration was possible thanks to research by the art historians Ulrich Leben and Jorg Ebeling, with the assistance of the late Xavier Brunet, an upholsterer who worked at the Embassy.
